Abstract

The coffee waste grounds oil, a by-product of the coffee industry, is gaining recognition for its potential in industrial and environmental applications. This study aims to determine the effects of extraction time for waste coffee oil. The waste is collected from the local coffee shop nearby. The waste coffee were extracted using Soxhlet extraction by n-polar solvent which is n hexane.  The extraction time was varies from 2 hours to 6 hours. This findings shows the optimum extraction time is 5 hours that produces highest oil yield, 11.97% with the characteristics oil coffee with specific gravity 0.876 g/mL. This study contributes to sustainable waste management and creative uses for coffee waste by addressing the environmental impact and potential for useful applications
