Analysis Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic on Productivity: A Survey in PETRONAS Pengerang, Johor
Abstract
The oil and gas industry is now in a phase of falling prices for the third time in 12 years, despite proving to be able to bounce back and resume operations after the two initial shocks. However, the situation is very different this time because of the global humanitarian crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and shocks to the supply of goods, as well as large and unexpected drops in the demand for goods. The level of financial performance and structure of the sector are also much worse than during the previous crisis. Low returns are caused by things like shale fuels, supply dumping, and economic market conditions that go beyond the discipline of capital limits. In PETRONAS Pengerang, Johor, a survey about productivity has been used to find out more about the situation. The survey was distributed to 71 respondents via Google Forms. The results of the survey were analyzed using the SPSS application. Journals and other reference materials are used to support the responses given by PETRONAS employees. In conclusion, the oil and gas industry will always rise again despite falling several times because it is an essential part of daily life worldwide.
